CHEMICAL SAFETY BOARD PERSONNEL CASE SETTLES

Courthouse Steps Agreement Means Thursday MSPB Hearing Is Cancelled

Washington, DC — Since 2015, Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) has been honored to represent Dr. Daniel Horowitz, PhD, the long-time and now former Managing Director of the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB), in his personnel dispute with that agency.

On Dr. Horowitz’s behalf, PEER has filed complaints concerning his employment status. A resolution has been reached regarding this matter.

Today, to memorialize this settlement, the CSB, Dr. Horowitz and PEER jointly approved this statement:

“The CSB and Dr. Daniel Horowitz have reached an agreement that brings to a conclusion the personnel disputes before the Merit Systems Protection Board and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the Department of Labor. The agency thanks Dr. Horowitz for his public service and wishes him the best in his future endeavors.”

As a result of this settlement, the appeal hearing that was scheduled for March 14, 15, and 18 before Judge Sherry Zamora of the Merit Systems Protection Board, Docket Number DC-0752-18-0622-I-1, will not take place.
